"Don't threaten me with a good time, man." Except for the sunburn - but
that's a problem for a later Eddie. He doesnβt really do sun. His
typical summer day involves a lot of pot and listening to his tape
collection in front of a rattling box fan in his underwear. Most of the
time he's working on his D&D campaigns. Not exactly Steve and Billy's idea
of summertime fun.
Eddie squawks as he's pulled into the pool again, splashing more water onto
the patio (and Steve). Billy's skin is warm against his own, and he's not
sure he'll ever truly get used to feeling all those muscles, either.
Surreal fuckin' stuff.
"You'll save me? You'll be the reason I'm drowning in the first place," he
snorts, throwing his arms around Billy's neck once he's sure they're not
going to sink to the bottom of the pool. He smells like beer and smoke and
salt, and the alcohol rushing through Eddie's bloodstream is only
encouraging him to have a taste. (It always does.)
"What was he saying about mouth-to-mouth?" If Steve wants to just sit and
watch, that's his loss. Eddie, on the other hand, leans in to give Billy a
soft kiss, smiling into it.
